Maintenance: Repair Services

Prime Valves & Guns

Prime Valves are seen a lot used as a pressure dump. This is not a pressure dump and should not be used as one as it will cause serious damage to the valve and need to be replaced.

Guns should be cleaned every single day after they have been used, clean them out with clean water and run mineral spirits through it after until you use it again to keep the gun clean, do not leave water in the gun as it can cause rust which will damage to insides of the gun!

Tip: Use the Gun to relieve the pressure and not the prime valve to not cause ware on your prime valve, This is also a safety hazard as the 3000 psi being relieved all at once can cause things to explode or hoses to blow off.
Pump Storing & Cleaning

When Storing your pump, whether it is summer or winter or even over night, clean it out with clean water and then run mineral spirits through it so nothing can rust, leaving water in the pump will damage the rod, packings, both valves, the sleeve and the Foot Valve housing. Which would mean a whole new fluid section!

Tip: When you clean out your pump if you run mineral spirits through it and leave it in there you can store it safely even in the winter! It is best to do this whenever you are not using the pump as it will allowed it to not rust

Filters & Paint

Filters should be cleaned out after every use just like your pump. Both gun filter and pump filter. If these are not cleaned out they will cause the gun to not spray from dried paint, and the prime valve to not work properly due to dried paint!

When you first start painting you should strain your paint a couple of times and always use a clean bucket if you're not using a new Bucket of paint.
